Please check back as insurance information around Utah may change soon!
Standard session of 50-55 minutes is $150. Benefits of self-pay sessions include use of NARM and Brainspotting, which are not yet covered by insurances.
There are many more insurance plans. If you have a different plan and would like to see me, reach out! I am happy to work with out-of-network benefits and provide a superbill.
Understandably things come up and you may not be able to attend a scheduled session. A 24 hour period of cancellation is requested. There is a no-show and less than 24 hour cancellation fee of $80.
Great question! Complex Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) is not an official diagnosis in the United States at this time. The Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Health (DSM-5) has yet to recognize this diagnosis though there has been a big push for this due to an increase in recognition of C-PTSD and its impact. The billing codes simply do not exist for this diagnosis!
Another reason is that insurance companies ask that methods be empirically based. The NARM institute was created in 2018, which means it is “new” to the scene and does not yet have the empirical backing often required by insurances. “New” is in quotations because while the institute is new, the methods have been gathered and synthesized from other, evidence-based models which have been around and proven for decades.
Private pay allows for a use of methods that are not covered by insurances and the direct treatment of complex trauma. Out-of-pocket pay also allows for a non-diagnosing approach. You are not a diagnosis and out-of-pocket allows for a gathering of information without a label.
